A Sunny Day in January

I took pictures before the holidays for a local Alexandria family and they shared the photos with a neighbor. The neighbor called me in the new year to schedule pictures for her son's family. They wanted to capture a bit of the city without being too touristy since they've spent a good portion of their lives as locals. We lucked out and had the most gorgeous day with unusually warm weather. It was really windy by the water, but they were good sports and adjusted. We wandered around and tried to capture various scenes. These boys were by far the most well-behaved and cooperative teenagers/preteens I've ever been introduced to. They were an absolute joy to work with. Here are my favorites:

Christmas Pictures in Chevy Chase

I am so far behind in blogging about my photo sessions! But in my efforts to get back up to speed, here's a look at a session I did for a wonderful family in Chevy Chase, MD. I took pictures for the wife's brother's family a few weeks earlier, and they liked the shots and hired me! Thank goodness for word of mouth:)

Here are some of my favorites:

After our indoor shots with the Christmas decor and their fancy clothes, they all changed into "play" attire and we walked to a nearby park to take a few more pictures:

It's dark, but I absolutely love this shot.

Who could resist this sweet doggie?!

FLASH SALE - Free Mini Session Recap

A couple weeks ago, I posted a FLASH giveaway for a FREE mini session. Within 25 seconds, someone had commented on the post to claim the session! (Got to love the power of social media:)

The winner wanted some family pictures for their Christmas card. Unfortunately our first session was rained out, and just as it looked like our rescheduled session was going to be a bust too, we figured out a great way to make it work...just do it one day earlier! They met me at the Gristmill Park in Mt Vernon and despite the chilly temperatures, the girls were great sports and very photogenic! In just 30 minutes I managed to snap nearly 300 pictures (189 of which I edited and gave to the winner)! Here are my favorites:

Ridiculously cute outfit, right?!

I could NOT get enough of this woodpile. What a fun, natural background!

Christmas Pictures at the National Harbor

I'm a bit behind, but last weekend I had the opportunity to take pictures of one of the cutest 11-month olds EVER! His parents must take tons of pictures of him because he was such a ham for the camera! We met at the Gaylord Hotel in the National Harbor, and it was the perfect location. We did most of our shots outside, but ventured inside at the end of the session. Here are my favorites!
